I am very excited to announce that Ryan Wash and Sydney
Pasquinelli will be joining me in running the Mean Green K Lab! Anyone who
knows these two will understand my excitement.
Ryan is one of the most talented and successful
debaters in the history of the activity. In 2013 Ryan and his partner Eli Smith
united the crowns of collegiate debate by winning both the Cross Examination
Debate Association’s National Championship and the National Debate Tournament.
This amazing achievement has never been done before. But in my mind more
exciting than working with such an accomplished debater is working with such an
amazing person. Ryan truly embodies the best of debate he dedicates his heart,
soul and body to the activity and recognizes the radical potential of
argumentation and community. The commitment he displayed as a debater is only intensifying
as he establishes himself as a coach and leader in the community. Ryan is
currently pursuing his Masters Degree at Wake Forest University. I am truly
honored to be leading this lab with him.
Sydney is one of the hardest working coaches and judges in
debate. Her dedication to debate is demonstrated by her commitment to her team,
and other teams in the community. Sydney is an amazing educator who uses her
academic studies to teach debaters about critical theory and debate. Sydney and
I debated on the team at Wayne State University and I am so excited to witness
her development into an amazing part of this community. Sydney is pursuing her
PhD at the University of Pittsburgh. I am beyond excited to be leading a lab
with Sydney this summer.
If you want to join us this summer make sure to mention
Ryan, Sydney and myself on your application to the Mean Green Workshop (http://www.meangreenworkshops.com/)
